DELIVERY, RETURNS &
CARING FOR YOUR POTTERY

DELIVERY & PAYMENT

Pottery pieces are usually dispatched within 3 working days of your order, unless they are a commission in which case an approximate timeframe will be discussed when the order is placed. Orders will be shipped using Royal Mail Second Class ‘Signed For’ (unless otherwise requested). The price of postage will vary according to the size and weight of the pottery pieces. This will be added onto the price of the pottery pieces so please check you are happy with the costs before completing an order.

If you are outside the UK and interested in purchasing an item please get in touch to discuss delivery and postage costs.

All my items are hand-made and hand decorated which means they may vary slightly in shape and design. They are photographed as accurately as possible, but please be aware there maybe differences from what appears on the screen and its description, before purchasing.

Payments can be made through PayPal. You will receive a confirmation text once payment has gone through successfully and another once the item has been posted.

All personal information that is received is kept entirely confidential and will not be shared with any other parties, (see Privacy Policy for more details).

* Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, shipment of items may be delayed and delivery times cannot be guaranteed. While the pandemic is ongoing and movement is restricted, orders will be posted according to demand. If rules change and Royal Mail postage is restricted, items will be put on hold and posted as soon as it is possible to do so. If this is an issue please do not order. If you would prefer an order to be held for you please also get in touch.

RETURNS

Great care is taken when packaging up your order to make sure it reaches you in one piece. Unfortunately, breakages do sometimes occur (I haven’t had one yet!) but if items have been damaged in transit, please get in touch immediately, within 2 days of receipt of goods. Please take a photograph for proof of damage and I will endeavour to arrange a near replacement but sometimes it may not be possible as items are, by nature, unique.

Please note that there are no refunds offered on postage unless the wrong item is received or has arrived damaged. Returned parcels are the customer's responsibility until received by Nicola Martin Ceramics. Any damage to items on return postage will not be refunded, so please package goods as safely as possible and ask for proof of postage from your post office.

CARING FOR YOUR POTTERY PIECES

WASHING

As with all hand-made pottery, the utmost care should be taken when handling Nicola's ceramics. Although they are high fired meaning it would be safe to place them in the dishwasher, it is strongly advisable to hand wash all pottery pieces as the chemicals in dishwashers can dull the glazes over time. They could also be chipped during the wash cycle.

MICROWAVE & OVEN SAFETY

My ceramics are high fired which means they are safe to put into the microwave, however, some of my pottery pieces have a metallic rim so just to be on the safe side I would advise not placing them in the microwave at all. As with all ceramics, it is best to avoid thermal shock by not exposing your pottery to rapid temperature changes. Always heat food on my pottery pieces from a cold oven.
