My stoneware vessels become a canvas onto which I ‘paint’ abstract images inspired by aerial landscapes. My signature “Earth Bowls” are made using a pouring technique, applying glazes in a free and intuitive way, creating patterns and effects that resemble the Earth’s surface as seen from above.

There is an alchemy that takes place in the kiln when the unique combinations of glazes develop together, the resulting colours and patterns evoking seascapes and landscapes. 

The finished pieces express my awareness of the fragility of our Earth and form a visual record of its beauty.
